Basement Wall Cracks

Cracks that have never been repaired by others are the easiest ones to fix. These “untouched cracks” can be repaired using the Urethane Basement Wall Crack Repair Kit. If you are concerned about getting a structural repair, the Epoxy Injection Basement Wall Crack Repair Kit is recommended. If a crack has been “patched” with a removable caulking or even a hydraulic cement that was only put on the surface, it is best to remove as much of this material as possible. If the patch is tough to get off then try to remove just the area where the injection ports would go. This is typically every 8” up the wall. If the crack has been “v-out” and filled with a hydraulic cement or a material that is difficult to remove then the Previously Repaired Basement Wall Crack Repair Kit is needed. Lastly, if a crack is always wet and leaking then the Previously Repaired Basement Wall Crack Repair Kit is to be used as well.

Leaking Poured Concrete Wall

Snap ties/ tie rods are the metal rods going through a poured concrete foundation designed to initially hold the forms together during the pour. These rods are susceptible to leaking because they are metal and eventually rust and allow water in them. The Tie Rod And Snap Tie Repair Kit comes with a urethane resin that fills the void and stops the leaking water.

Sewer, water, well and conduit pipe penetrations are another area for water to leak. Holes that are cored to put these pipes in leave a void around the outside of the pipe and the cored hole. For example a sewer pipe is typically 4” in diameter but the cored hole or penetration can be 5” or more, leaving a void between the outside of the pipe and the cored concrete. This void around the pipe can be injected using the Pipe Penetration and PVC Conduit Repair Kit which comes with a urethane resin that will expand and stop the water.

Precast bulkhead units that are bolted to the foundation are sources of water because they are separate from the foundation. Leaking bulkheads can be injected using the Bulkhead Repair Kit which has 2 double cartridge tubes of urethane to stop the water leaking from the joints against the foundation.

Basement Floor Cracks

If you have a crack in your concrete (indoor or outdoor, residential or industrial) that is in need of structural repair and/or is a high traffic area, our CrackBond Foundation Floor Crack Repair Kit is the perfect solution. The CrackBond Crack Repair Kit is designed to weld or glue the concrete floor back together. CrackBond is a two-component compound. When ejected out of the cartridge through a mixing nozzle, it fills the crack and quickly cures (30 minutes). It bonds with sand into an indestructible, impermeable mass inside cracks, spalls, or holes. Water, vapor, or gases cannot penetrate. It is also a structural repair – it stops the crack from further movement. Fixes cracks measuring up to 100LF in length and 1/16” wide OR 50LF in length and 1/8” wide, and up to 4” deep.

If you have water coming in from the cold joint between the concrete pre-cast bulkhead and a poured concrete foundation you need the Basement Self Solve Bulkhead Repair Kit.

Basement Waterproofing

For those with a high water table or who want to avoid having their basements flood installing a sump pump will help control the water table. The Sump Pump And Pit Kit 2 has what you need to install a full sump pump system in the basement. For those with existing sump pumps who want to replace or add a second one can purchase the Barnes Sump Pump.

The Clear Quiet Checkvalve allows you to see the water passing through the valve, and is designed not to bang like common check valves thus keeping it quiet.

The High Water Alarm sets off a buzzer that lets you know if the sump pump has failed and the water has reached a level where the basement may flood. The high water alarm protects against a sump pump failing and the homeowner not knowing until it’s too late.

Exterior Sealers

To help protect concrete driveways and garage floors it is recommended to seal the concrete ever 5 years. The driveway and garage floor sealer penetrates and protects the concrete helping to extend the life of the concrete floor or driveway. It will bead water away and helps prevent efflorescence and sprawling of the concrete. The sealer can be used to protect anything made of concrete.

Bricks and the mortar joints between the bricks need to be protected against the elements to help preserve the strength of the mortar. Sealing the bricks will prevent water penetration and will make the water bead off and away. Bricks and mortar joints that have been painted can not be sealed. The brick sealer is recommended for all sealing of bricks and mortar joints and can be used to seal all masonry items.

Swimming Pool Repair and Sealers

For those losing water because of a faulty skimmer, the skimmer repair kit can be used to inject urethane around the skimmer kit and stop the leak. For those losing water through a crack in the concrete or Gunite pool the crack repair kit is recommended. For concrete pool cracks that have not been patched then the crack repair kit would be used. If the crack has been patched or v-out then the previously repaired crack kit would be used. For those with poured concrete pool decks with cracks the crack bond kit will weld or glue the concrete back together repairing it structurally. Pool decks made of concrete or any masonry material should be protected  using the pool deck sealer. The sealer will help preserve and extend the life of the pool deck.
